China- ASEAN“Crown Jewel”International Skills Competition Intangible Cultural Heritage Track --- The Theme of "Blue of the World" Released

On April 25, 2021, there are more than 130 experts from China’s 50 colleges and universities gathered in Hainan College of Economics and Business to hold the preparatory work meeting of China-ASEAN "Crown Jewel" international skills competition. The meeting released a keynote report on the intangible cultural heritage track. With the theme of "Blue of the World" ecological design, the competition solicited and invited relevant colleges and universities in China-ASEAN countries to participate of this competition, and received a great responses from the participants.


The competition responds to the General Secretary Xi call of “Activating the vitality of Chinese excellent traditional culture with the spirit of times, and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture” and to contributes to the major goal of “By 2025, the inheritance and development system of Chinese excellent traditional culture will be basically formed, and the international influence of Chinese culture has been significantly enhanced". Strive to create a new chapter of international intangible cultural heritage events and build an Asian cultural community.



The competition organizer, Tang International Education Group has been deeply involved in Internet+ international education for 15 years, who serving the global communication of Chinese language, culture and education, serving more than 500 colleges and universities around the world, also connecting more than 10,000 teachers in China and abroad and involved 600,000 international students, and has helped more than 40 outstanding China universities and vocational colleges to establish modern overseas campuses.


This time, Tang International Education Group and the International Intangible Heritage Master Craftsman Residency System and the founder of the International Handicraft Forum-Beijing Zhihe Cultural Organization, they jointly released the competition’s theme of the "Blue of the World". The participating experts jointly launched the preparatory committee for the competition, they discussed the basic framework of the competition, and preliminarily determined the international inter-school non-legacy credit course construction; teachers’intangible cultural heritage teaching methods and achievements; students' learning achievements and creative design. During the competition, activities such as international theme forums, inter-school dialogues, master exhibitions, international workshops, and roving exhibitions of students' works will also be held.


During the meeting, Mr. Hu Jingyu, a famous planner in China, Liu Ninghai, dean of the College of Cooking Scuience and Technology of Jiangsu College Of Tourism, Zheng Hongcheng, dean of the International College of Jiangsu Food and Pharmaceutical Science College, Team Leader He Hongjie of Intangible Heritage Major of Beijing Fengtai Vocational High School, and Wang Dayong, dean of the Art and Design College of Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign language and Arts and other experts, gave a special reports on the preparations for this competition.






Traditional Asian handicrafts are an important part of the world's intangible cultural heritage and a bridge for the dialogue between Asian culture and the world's creative culture. The isolation of the global epidemic has not blocked the cultural exchanges between China-ASEAN countries. The preparation of this competition was supported by the Chairman of the“Belt and Road Initiative”foundation of Thailand, Thailand Deputy Monk Wang Songde, the Ministry of Education of Thailand, the Ministry of Education of Malaysia, and many well-known universities and vocational colleges in China. Through the competition, the competition will promote the communication between the people of China-ASEAN countries, deepen the cooperation in vocational education between China- ASEAN countries, boost the professional upgrading of vocational colleges in ASEAN countries, and help to training of skilled personnel that needed for the industrial progress of China-ASEAN countries.



The secretariat of the intangible cultural heritage track preparatory committee is set up in Beijing and it will set up sub-competition areas in various regions of China and ASEAN countries.
