Informatization and Digitization Help the Development of International Mandarin Education and the Award Ceremony of the 4th National Postgraduate Mandarin Teaching Micro-Lecture Competition was Successfully Held

Insignificant things only become meaningful after a long period of accumulation. On June 30, 2022, the award ceremony of the 4th National Postgraduate Mandarin Teaching Micro-Lecture Competition jointly organized by International Chinese Language Education Institute of Beijing Normal University, College of International Education Shanghai University and Tang International Education Group was grandly held online. At that time, more than 3,000 people passed the Tang Intelligent Course Generation System, and more than 300 people passed the Tencent Meeting to listen to the wonderful reports of industry experts. Since the launch of the micro-lecture competition, more than 3,800 contestants from 126 well-known universities in China and 111 groups have actively signed up and submitted nearly 1,700 works.
At the beginning of the conference, Prof. Zhao Yang from the School of Chinese as a Second Language of Peking University and Li Yingjie, Dean of the College of International Education Shanghai University delivered speeches respectively.
In the keynote report in the first half of the conference, Li Jinsong, President of Tang International Education Group, discussed from different dimensions how international Mandarin education in the new era can speed up and promote the opening of education to the outside world through informatization and digitization. At the same time, he is also full of expectations for the employment prospects and future of Mandarin international education under the new situation.
In the report of Prof. Wang Xuesong from International Chinese Language Education Institute of Beijing Normal University, he highlighted that the Tang Chinese International Education Information Platform and the CCTE Modern Sino-Foreign Joint Training Project provided sufficient platform support and project significance for the holding of the competition.
Prof. Zheng Yanqun from Beijing Language and Culture University gave very targeted guidance and constructive significance to the next competition from production to evaluation through the evaluation of the works of this competition and the analysis of all the comments. Prof. Zheng said that the award ceremony of this competition is an A-level high-level academic event.
The report of Prof. Ma Xiaole from the School of International Education of Shandong University discussed in depth the iteration and transformation of the integration of production and education, from the academic research of talent training literature to talent training reform, base construction, empowerment, and the transformation of talent training.
In the keynote report in the second half of the conference, Prof. Sun Yixue from the International School of Tongji University pointed out the changes in the development model of international Mandarin education from a macro perspective. Prof. Sun also discussed and thought about the online teaching of international Mandarin education in the post-pandemic era.
Prof. Ye Jun from the School of International Chinese Studies of East China Normal University, combined with the works of this competition from a micro perspective, and put forward in-depth thinking and guidance on the micro-lecture from the three dimensions of “what”, “how to do” and “what to do”.
Prof. Pei Yulai from the College of International Education Shanghai University proposed in the report that international Mandarin education should have a product-oriented thinking, understand the concept of international Mandarin education with a product-oriented thinking, and solve problems with engineering.
At the end of the conference, Tian He, Dean of the College of International Cultural Exchanges of Northwest Normal University, took over the banner of the 4th Micro-Lecture Competition and made a concluding speech. Dean Tian said that the collaboration with Tang International Education Group over the past ten years has played a huge role in cultivating the informatization literacy of teachers and students in the college, effectively responding to the impact of the epidemic on teaching, and improving the level of informatization in the college. At the same time, he also showed his determination to run the 5th Micro-Lecture Competition.
The conference was co-chaired by Ke Hang, Deputy Dean of International Chinese Language Education Institute of Beijing Normal University, Pei Yulai, Deputy Dean of the College of International Education Shanghai University, Zhang Yanli, Dean of the School of Chinese Studies and Exchange of Shanghai International Studies University, Wang Caihong, Director of Tang International Education Group.
The micro-lecture competition has gone through 4 years since its establishment, and now it has become a national competition with great influence, wide scale and most anticipated by students.
