On August 4, 2022, the new Chairman of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC, Pakistan), Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, met with the Executive CEO of Pakistan Tang International Education Group, Ma Xiaoyan, at the HEC headquarters in Islamabad. The two sides have in-depth exchanges on jointly promoting Sino-Pakistan collaboration in the field of education.

The chairman spoke highly of Tang International Education Group’s efforts to promote Sino-Pakistan educational collaboration. He thanked Tang International Education Group for coordinating and advancing a batch of Sino-Pakistan dual-diploma programs based on the unique mechanism and characteristics of the modern educational technology, global cloud platform and CCTE model.
He also shared with Tang International Education Group’s team that HEC is currently formulating and improving relevant policies for Pakistan’s dual-diploma program, and looking forward to the smooth implementation of the first Sino-Pakistan dual-diploma program officially approved by HEC at Karakoram International University. He hoped that the program could become a benchmark, provide more valuable practical experience for other universities in Pakistan to collaboration with Chinese universities, continue to promote Sino-Pakistan modern education collaboration, and become a model of Sino-foreign educational collaboration along the “Belt and Road”.
Regarding the field of vocational and technical education, the Chairman emphasized that HEC currently attaches great importance to the role of vocational and technical education in cultivating and developing skilled technical personnel in Pakistan to meet future technical needs. He also shared with Tang International Education Group’s team that there are currently 57 universities in Pakistan focusing on technical education, and plans to promote more universities to transform into technical education institutions in the future.
He said that HEC supports the collaboration with Tang International Education Group in the collaboration between Pakistan universities and Chinese universities recognized by its system to carry out the CCTE model dual-diploma program, and highly appreciates the “Sino-Pakistan Vocational and Technical Education Collaboration 210 Project”. He looks forward to continuously introducing more Chinese advantageous programs and majors into Pakistan through this plan, and enhancing local vocational and technical education capabilities.

HEC senior leadership met with Tang International Education Group’s team again to conduct exchanges and collaboration. It can be seen that HEC has a high degree of recognition of Tang International Education Group’s work and the CCTE model.
With the signing of the agreement on mutual recognition of higher education qualifications between China and Pakistan, in the context of the all-weather strategic partnership, the educational collaboration and exchanges between the two countries will inevitably become closer in the future. Tang International Education Group will continue to serve the institutes of the two countries through Sino-Pakistan education collaboration platform based on the CCTE model, continue to promote the pragmatic development of Sino-Pakistan education collaboration, and provide sustainable talent support for the construction of Sino-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
