More than 200 China and Malaysia institutes participated in The 1st China-Malaysia Vocational Education Fair to explore the possibility of China-Malaysia vocational education collaboration
On October 31 and November 1, 2022, more than 200 vocational and technical colleges from China and Malaysia participated in the launching ceremony of The 1st China-Malaysia Vocational Education Fair through online and offline methods. At the same time, the online forum also kicked off. At the event, participants discussed various issues such as China-Malaysia vocational education collaboration in awarding dual certification and academic exchanges.
The 1st China-Malaysia Vocational Education Fair is hosted by Tang International Education Group, supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, strategic supported by the Malaysia Technical and Vocational Education Division of Ministry of Education, Malaysia Manpower Department of Ministry of Human Resource, Negeri Sembilan State Government, Malaysia National Association of Skilled Workers, and Merdeka University Berhad, co-organized by the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology, and Chengdu Vocational & Technical College of Industry.
Zhao Changtao, Education Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, pointed out in his opening speech that the exchanges and collaboration of vocational education between China and Malaysia have broad prospects. Therefore, he hoped that all the relevant parties from both countries will seize the opportunity and contribute to building a more comprehensive, close, pragmatic and inclusive China-Malaysia high-quality vocational education partnership.
He also said that in August this year, the 1st World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference and the 3rd China-ASEAN Education Ministers Roundtable Conference were held successively and also generated the document “Tianjin Initiative” and “Building a Friendly Homeland: Vision and Actions for China-ASEAN Educational Cooperation and Development (2022-2030)” and so on, which summarized the result of these conference.

At the event, Zhao Changtao and Negeri Sembilan Executive Committee Member Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Rafie Bin Ab Malek jointly witnessed the unveiling ceremony of the “Tangshan Polytechnic College - Gemilang Motor Academy International School”. The two institutes will carry out China-Malaysia collaboration in running schools through the CCTE model launched by Tang International Education Group. Students participating in the program can obtain certificates and academic certificates issued by Malaysia and China.
Gemilang Motor Academy (GMA) has reached a collaboration with Tangshan Polytechnic College to cultivate Malaysian auto repair professionals in the CCTE 2+1 model.
In his keynote speech at the event, Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Rafie Bin Ab Malek, the Executive Committee Member of Negeri Sembilan state, said that the state government is very concerned about the collaboration between China and Malaysia in the field of education, especially in the field of vocational education, and is willing to provide assistance in this regard. “The state government is very happy to see the joint venture collaboration between the two parties, and is also very concerned about such collaboration. It is hoped that any parties implementing such collaboration can always contact the state government if need any assistance or feedback. Such collaboration can indirectly help improve people’s livelihood and the economy.”

Dr. Azmir Bin Yunus, Director of Malaysia Technical Division of Manpower Department, expressed his gratitude to Tang International Education Group for its assistance to China-Malaysia vocational education collaboration, and also delivered a report on “Opportunities for Sino-Malaysia Institutional Collaboration in TVET” at the event. In his speech, he briefly introduced the vocational education system in Malaysia to the participants. At the same time, he emphasized that the Malaysia Manpower Department, which is responsible for the certification of vocational education in Malaysia, is looking forward to further collaboration with China vocational education.
On behalf of the Malaysia Manpower Department, Dr. Azmir Bin Yunus delivered a report on “Opportunities for Sino-Malaysia Institutional Collaboration in TVET”, and welcomed the deepening of mutual collaboration between China and Malaysia vocational education institutions.
Zulkernai Bin Fauzi, Senior Deputy Director of Technical and Vocational Education Division of Ministry of Education, also delivered a speech at the event. He explained the transformation and development path and future planning of vocational education in Malaysia to the participants in detail. Li Jinsong, President of Tang International Education Group, also made a special report entitled “A New Model of International Training of Vocational Education in the 21st Century: CCTE”. In the report, President Li Jinsong introduced the development of China vocational education and the China-Malaysia international education collaboration model to the participants, and introduced the CCTE international education collaboration model created by Tang International Education Group in detail to the participants. The CCTE collaboration model has built a new China-foreign integrated education collaboration model of “Mandarin + business culture + skills + employment”, which realizes the traceability, query and conversion of the education process, and ensures the high quality of international talent training.

68 China vocational colleges and 141 Malaysia vocational colleges participated in this vocational education fair. There are more than 30 domestic and foreign speakers, experts, and topic sharing sessions, which are combined online and offline, and the actual number of participants exceeds 2,000.
At The 1st China-Malaysia Vocational Education Fair, 10 groups of teachers and students from various vocational colleges under the Malaysia Technical and Vocational Education Division shared their special reports with the participants.
At the event, 21 higher vocational colleges from China shared their school-running achievements with vocational education leaders and colleges, which were unanimously affirmed by the representatives of the Malaysian side.
